Roll top luggage is all the rage these days, whatever happened to a good old zip? Oxford Products have recently introduced three new products to their growing range of luggage options. The Aqua 30 (£49.99) and Aqua 50 (£59.99) have a 30 litre & 50 litre carrying capacity, roll top closure, plus compression buckles. They’re made from tough TPU and are waterproof, hardwearing and also include a front zip pocket, carrying handles and shoulder strap. The bags are finished in either white or fluoro and have reflective detailing so they also help with visibility from the rear. They can be attached to the bike/scooter using the integral Velcro and double D-ring straps.
There’s also a 25-litre backpack in the same material (Aqua 25R, £49.99). I’ve been using a roll top bag and rucksack for the past couple of months and so far so good, the only criticisms with this shape of bag is that if you don’t put just the right amount of gear in them they’re tricky to close securely and you can’t fold clothes to put them in (or if you do they don’t come out looking like they were ironed!). You’re better off using them for stuff like sleeping bags etc, I can get two sleeping bags in the 50 litre bag, plus a few odds and ends and towels.
