Next weekend, June 12th is the annual Vespa World Days (VWD) event in Biograd, Croatia. up to 4,000 Vespa fans from around the world are currently either riding to, or preparing to set off towards the country for a weekend of all things Vespa related and maybe the odd drink or two. We’ll be there, along with 110 other British scooter fans.
Last minute preparations have been made to my Vespa GTS 300 (see next month’s Scootering magazine for full details), the luggage is packed and has been loaded for a couple of weeks. I’ve been doing a few miles to make sure it rides well with the extra weight on board.
We’ll be covering over 3,000 miles in total and will take in ten countries, we’ll be camping for most of it and no doubt we’ll manage to bring you the odd update on Twitter/Facebook during the journey.
I’ve also had a Datatool tracking device fitted and will have a live tracking function set up from 9.30am on Friday 5th June so that our readers/friends and relatives can check in to see where we are. The device works on iPhone and Android phones, iPad etc. Or on a computer but use Firefox/Safari/Chrome rather than Internet Explorer. Tracking login details are as follows.
We’ll be back on June 20th so 2Commute will be a bit quiet until we recover from the trip.
Personally I’d like to thank the following companies for supplying some of the kit and accessories needed for the ride, we’ll be product testing it during and after the trip.
